Project Spotlight:
Traditional Brick Home in Charlotte, NC
We love working with clients who do their research! The homeowner for this project was very particular about Kelvin temperature, beam spread, and Lumen output. This gave us the perfect opportunity for a nighttime outdoor lighting demonstration to show them the available lighting options in person. Sometimes you just need to see the lights before we install them and we understand this.
We had so much fun working with the homeowners to design the perfect lighting plan for their beautiful home. From the beautiful, brick architectural elements to the dormers, stone paths, and gorgeous trees, we were able to highlight the best features of their home and property.
Outdoor Lighting Objectives
During the initial design consultation, the clients’ lighting objectives were to highlight the architecture of their home and facilitate safe navigation with path lights. As lighting designers, we love when clients want to extent the architectural lighting around to the back of the house! The homeowners liked the idea of hiding the light sources on the architectural lighting and installing traditional path lights to match the traditional feel of the home.
Design Plan
The following is a visualization of our initial lighting design. We were able to tweak this design to come up with a lighting system that fit their vision perfectly.
The following is a visualization of the finalized lighting design. We installed a total of 26 low voltage outdoor lighting fixtures throughout the property.
Enhancing Curb Appeal
In the front, we used a combination of uplights and small, gutter mounted lights to highlight the architectural features of this unique home including the dormers creating a beautiful, warm glow from top to bottom!
Accent Lighting Trees
This home was literally surrounded by beautiful, mature trees! With the help of the homeowner, we selected the two trees in the front yard and a beautiful Crepe Myrtle on the side of the home to light as focal points. We were lucky to install this project in the fall and capture the true beauty of illuminated trees in Autumn. We also returned to get some pictures of these trees once all of the leaves had fallen. This beautifully illustrates how lighting can enhance trees throughout the seasons!
Navigational Lighting
There are so many reasons to install outdoor lighting, but here you can really see how lighting facilitates safe navigation throughout the property – and the traditional path lights really work well with the landscaping and traditional architecture of this home.
Client Review
“Jeff Lindvall had the best ideas for lighting up our home and yard, and he made the best presentation, and his pricing was competitive, so our decision to do business with Limelight was pretty much a no-brainer. And, with a little tweaking, everything turned out just as Jeff said it would. We are very happy with the result, as our neighbors, and we highly recommend Jeff and his Limelight team. We have dealt with many contractors over the years and Jeff was the most professional, the most responsive and the easiest to work with. If we could find people like Jeff in the other trades, our life would be a lot easier.”
