Project Spotlight:

Amazing Home in Providence Plantation

We had so much fun working with the homeowners of this beautiful house with the most amazing backyard. From the beautiful, brick architectural features to the deck and stone steps to the huge trees lining the backyard, we were able to add lighting that truly highlights the best features of the home property.

Outdoor Lighting Objectives

During the initial design consultation, the clients’ lighting objectives were to highlight the architecture of their home with lighting and install path lights for safe navigation to the front entrance of their home. In the backyard, the clients wanted us to add navigational lighting to their existing system as well as accent lights to highlight groups of trees on the perimeter of the property. After an initial proposal and a nighttime lighting demonstration, we ended up installing a total of 26 low voltage outdoor lights throughout the property.

Enhancing Curb Appeal with Architectural Lighting

In the front, we used uplights to highlight the architectural features of this beautiful home and increase curb appeal at night. We also installed path lights for save navigation on the path to the front entrance.

Beautiful brick home with warm architectural lighting. Additional lighting on the two Crepe Myrtle trees to the left of the home and path lights leading up to the front entrance.

Outdoor Lighting for Outdoor Living

In the back, we installed another set of path lights for save navigation on the stone steps leading to backyard. These turned out beautifully!

The second set of stairs in this backyard lead down from the deck to the bocci ball court. We chose small, undermount lights as opposed to more visible post lights.

One of the reasons we love nighttime demonstrations is that we can test different lights in multiple areas to get the best design. Notice these steps didn’t have an obvious spot to install an undermount light without the light shining directly into the eyes of individuals coming up the stairs. Our solution was a small, shielded post light installed near the bottom of the post. As you can see, our installation crew took much care installing this little light so the wires were hidden and that the fixture blended well with the existing hardware on the post. There are so many reasons to install outdoor lighting, but here you can really see how lighting facilitates safe navigation throughout the property

Creating Visual Interest and Depth with Landscape Lighting

We LOVE when homeowners want to light trees throughout their property. While the front yard had existing lights on the Crepe Myrtles, the homeowners wanted to extend the lighting in their backyard to create similar visual interest and depth. Just look at these pictures! BEAUTIFUL!
